We are back in Singapore. We arrived back at our apartment about midnight Sunday night. We had a wonderful vacation in Australia. I am happy to say that Jeff really vacationed with us and did very little work even though there were several important issues that surfaced. I don't think many people realize how hard it is for someone who owns a business to step away from it and I am so thankful that Jeff chose to do that for us.
We had so much fun in Australia. One day we went 4wd-ing on the sand dunes. We went out to the beach. The dunes are right on the beach. As we were waiting to get in the truck we saw whales migrating in the ocean. They were jumping up out of the water. It was an amazing site to see them do it over and over again. We then went in the truck and the driver took us over some amazingly high dunes. We also went sand boarding. It is where you sit on a board and go down the big dune. It was a lot of fun.
We headed out to Sydney the next day and Jeff was able to secure a hotel near the Opera House. When we walked in our room you could see the Harbor bridge from our window. It was an amazing view! We took so many pictures. We went out to Manly Beach where all the surfing is and had take-away lunch while we watched the surfers. Then we headed out on a walk around the water. They had several areas where there were tidepools. The kids learned all about these when we went to California a few years ago and so they knew right away how to find the creatures. Kyle found some aneomones and Charley found some crabs pretty quickly. It was a great walk and the kids loved climbing up the rocks. This area reminded me a lot of California with the rocks and water.
We are back in Singapore now and went out and got some groceries today and are doing laundry. Thankfully we were able to get someone in Australia to do our laundry so I don't have quite as much to do. Our little washer cum dryer just does not support too many clothes. Tomorrow we are going to the Night Safari at the Zoo. Charley is really looking forward to that. I have heard it is great.
Until next time....
