Last night we went to the Night Safari. http://www.nightsafari.com.sg/ It is supposedly the world's first. It was really neat. It opens at 7pm so we went after Jeff got off work. We decided we should eat at the park. Jeff had a very interesting meal of StingRay. Kyle and I tried it as well. It was actually better than you might imagine. Kind of fishy but not rubbery as I had expected. They served it with a spicy sauce on it so two bites was all I could manage.
The Night Safari has a 45 minute tram ride that takes you around the park. It is such a different experience to be with all the animals at night. They have a Creatures of the Night Show. Charley was itching to get on stage and we were sitting in the front row. She asked for a child and he jumped up but she had her back turned to him and did not see him before she chose another child so she told him she would make it up to him. Later they brought out a boa contrictor and asked Charley's Macho Man Dad to come on stage. Jeff wanted no part of it. He kept refusing and then Charley runs up on stage so Jeff had to go up!!! They put the snake on him and it was all very amusing. I captured most of it on video. He made the family proud and got a stuffed toy as a prize. :-) Afterwards we walked the trails of the zoo and finally arrived home around 11pm. We have had several late nights lately!!
Today we took it easy. It was raining this morning so just to get out of the house we went to Orchard Road. There is a lot of shopping here. There is a nice little playground for the younger boys and we made a stop at Toys R Us which the boys thought was wonderful.
We have been going to the pool most afternoons lately. They have 4 pools and a hot tub here at the apartment. All are varying depths. Dylan likes the baby pool that he can walk around in so we hang out there alot. I think if the weather is nice we may head out to Haw Par Village tomorrow. It is supposed to be an interesting place. It is free but you have to pay $1.00 to see the 10 levels of hell....not quite sure what to think about that...you will have to read my update tomorrow to see if we pay to see someone's perception of hell.
Until then, be reminded....
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
